Intro of Realme 9 pro plus :
Realme 9 Pro + marks the company's entry into the budget for less than Rs 30k for the first time, competing with the likes of Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge (review), OnePlus Nord 2 (update), Poco F3 GT (update), Vivo V23 and more.
The Realme 9 Pro + has strong features and demonstrates its power, especially in the operating and camera departments. It gives us a glimpse of how Realme ended up growing on a wire in a series of Realme numbers placed at the top of the middle class. Some of the highlights of the Realme 9 Pro + include a Dimensity 920 chipset, 60W high-speed charging support and a 50MP large camera using the Sony IMX766 flagship-grade sensor, which has been seen on phones like the Nord 2 , OnePlus 9RT (update), Vivo X70 Pro and Reno 7 Pro (update), to name a few.
As you will notice, most of these phones are priced at over 35K and the Realme 9 Pro + starts at Rs 25,000 and is a strong competitor to get a cash prize. But what makes Realme 9 Pro + stand out from the crowd and why should you care about Realme 9 Pro +? I will try and answer all of that as we take Realme 9 Pro + as a spin with our standard testing process. Here's how Realme 9 Pro + stands against competition.
Realme 9 Pro + performance review
Realme 9 Pro + is powered by the MediaTek Dimension 920 chipset we have seen on phones like Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge and Vivo V23. It offers up to 8GB of RAM paired with up to 256GB of storage options to choose from. Works on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. Realme also installed an evaporation room inside 9 Pro + to ensure it works well in difficult situations such as gaming.
The daily performance of the Realme 9 Pro + really impressed me. This phone did not show any marks or jitters on the photos and I was able to do many things, switch between apps and use them easily. Having said that, Realme 9 Pro + comes with its own set of bloatware with pre-installed apps like Amazon, Booking, Daily Hunt, FinShell, Josh, LinkedIn, Moj, ShareChat, Snapseed and SoLoop. Many of these apps can be downloaded but in my opinion, why not put your end user at this difficulty where you can earn bonus points by keeping apps smaller.
Realme 9 Pro + also comes with a double fingerprint reader as a heart monitor. There is an option in Settings to measure your heart rate with a fingerprint reader and it takes 5-10 seconds to indicate your current heart rate which is a good feature you can have if you want to keep track of your heartbeat.
In our regular testing process, the Realme 9 Pro + has shown its performance potential taking a bit higher than its existing Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge and Vivo V23.

In the AnTuTu and Geekbench tests, Realme 9 Pro + got better points than Hypercharge and V23 even though all three phones have the same SoC. This means that the system configuration by Realme 9 Pro + works well in providing stable performance that you can rely on.
In a PCMark test that tests hard work that includes video editing, web browsing and more, Realme 9 Pro + got good points which means it can handle those tasks without breaking a sweat.
Next, we performed a CPU test to test whether the CPU reduced performance under deep operations. Here, the Realme 9 Pro + has dropped to 94% of its high performance which means that there is some sort of upgrade in the phone storage area that works well by pressing performance.
Realme 9 Pro + Camera Update
The Realme 9 Pro + gets a triple rear camera stack with 50MP main camera header using the Sony IMX766 sensor followed by a very wide 8MP camera and a 2MP camera. Now we have seen this sensor on phones like the OnePlus 9RT, Nord 2 and Oppo Reno 7 Pro, to name a few and I was impressed with the photos taken on the 9 Pro +.
As a leading sensor, Realme has been able to improve and fine-tune the camera stack and camera app making it much easier to take a good photo. Add to it features such as IOS support for stable videos or an updated street photography mode that brings longer exposure mode and a 90-degree pop filter, which makes it a flexible phone to try different photography styles.
Realme 9 Pro + Gaming performance update

Realme 9 Pro + has proven its mid-range phone experience and earned good marks in GPU tests like 3DMark and GFXBench. Although it can perform very well on phones like the 11i Hypercharge and V23, the Snapdragon 778G and Dimensity 1200 phones in this budget range get better scores on these comparison tests.
We used Gamebench to record game metrics and test the performance of the Realme 9 Pro + game. At COD Mobile, Gamebench recorded 59FPS in 99% stability with a high-quality picture game and High Level Standards. There is an option to use the game with High frame rate but doing so lowers the overall image quality.
At BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), Gamebench has recorded 40FPS in 100% stability with game-based HDR graphics and Ultra stand-alone frames. Meanwhile, Asphalt 9 operates at 30FPS at 100% stability.
Now all these numbers translate into a good gaming experience where I did not experience any bending when I arrived or during a great shot at COD Mobile or BGMI. My game experience was good at 9 Pro + and I feel it has the power to surpass the competition in other game titles.
Realme 9 Pro + battery update
The Realme 9 Pro + comes equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. In my time with this phone, the battery lasted for about a day and then the other was charged once for basic tasks like taking calls, texting on WhatsApp, watching videos on YouTube, listening to certain music on Spotify and more. The phone provides excellent battery performance although it will need to be charged for playing games or watching movies. In our video loop test, the Realme 9 Pro + lasted for over 21 hours and while playing the COD Mobile cycle the battery dropped by 6%.
When it comes to charging, the Realme 9 Pro took about 45 minutes to fully charge from a 1-100% good but the 11i Hypercharge did much better.
Realme 9 Pro + Display
Realme 9 Pro + features a 6.4-inch Full HD + AMOLED display that provides up to 90Hz support. Although the 9 Pro + is undoubtedly a step higher than the 9 Pro, a 120Hz flexible update rate is set for the latest bummer. If not, the 9 Pro + gives you a good HDR10 proven display for you to enjoy videos, play games and feel more immersive with on-board stereo speakers.
While the display supports HDR10 and even HDR10 +, some of the review units planted by Realme are not compatible with Netflix. However, Realme has confirmed that sales units will be guaranteed by Netflix. Besides, the display can easily use 1080p HDR videos and reproduce very small details to ensure a good view in Realme 9 Pro +.
Realme 9 Pro + Build and Design
Realme sent us the Sunrise Blue 9 Pro + color variation with Photochromic layer on the back panel. 9 Pro + is the first Realme phone with a background panel that changes color from glossy blue to red when held under direct sunlight or UV light. We saw a similar implementation of the photochromic layer in the Vivo V23 Pro (update) that changes color from red / gold to cyan shades.
In Realme 9 Pro + however, the launch looks closed as the background of the phone is visible and does not allow the color to change as well as advertised. I also tried using a UV lamp to change color but was unsuccessful in the way the V23 Pro changed color. At this point, it remains a visual gimmick and nothing more.
Coming to the design of the Realme 9 Pro +, it stays solid with the small profiles I liked. It weighs 7.99mm and weighs 182 grams which they claim is Realme the smallest phone in their series of numbers yet. This phone does not feel heavy on the hand and has good ergonomics that ensures you make a little effort while holding the phone in your hand. The design on the flat edge is shortened to the corners for a comfortable hold but the back panel is always slippery, pulling fingerprints and smudges. Most people would choose to use it with a case and thanks to Realme it provides in-the-box.
The decision
Realme 9 Pro + is a great camera phone with a price tag of Rs 24,999. While you can find another way with more powerful phones like the Poco F3 GT or Nord 2, Realme has made great strides in mobile photograph diy. If the camera phone is what you wish for, the 9 Pro + will no doubt work well for you.
Realme has provided a good mix of compatible features, be it a 90Hz AMOLED display and Dolby-tuned stereo speakers or a 50 MP OIS-supported main camera. All this and more, make Realme 9 Pro + value of the money. {Hindiunite}
